Tamina Hauser

Tamina Hauser is a literary translator and editor based in South Korea. She first began her foray into the world of literary translation during her MA studies at the Chinese University of Hong Kong, where she was involved in translating and editing stories by Hong Kong writers, including Xi Xi and Liu Yichang. In 2020, she received the LTI Korea Award for Aspiring Translators for her German translation of a short story by Hwang Jung-eun and subsequently attended LTI Korea’s Translation Academy, from which she graduated in 2023. As part of the 2022 ALTA Emerging Translators Mentorship, she worked on an English translation of Bak Solmay’s full-length novel Future Walking Rehearsals, an excerpt of which was published in The Offing in February 2024, and has received a Daesan Translation Grant to translate the same novel into German.

2023년도 공모전 대상 작품은 The 2022 New Korean Voice Prize 수상작, 진보라 작가님의 <메모리 케어>였으며, 2023년도 공모전의 심사는 영어권의 저명한 한국계 소설가이자 번역가, Heinz Insu Fenkl님께서 맡아 주셨습니다.
